హైదరాబాద్ : బంగ్లాదేశ్ రచయిత్రి తస్లీమా నస్రీన్ మరోసారి హైదరాబాద్ వస్తే చంపేస్తామంటూ బహిరంగంగా వ్యాఖ్యలు చేసిన ఎంఐఎం ఎమ్మెల్యే అక్భరుద్దీన్ ను పోలీసులు అరెస్ట్ చేసే అవకాశాలున్నాయి. నాంపల్లి కోర్టు సూచన మేరకు పోలీసులు ఎమ్మెల్యేపై 506 సెక్షన్ కింద కేసు నమోదు చేశారు. ఆయన వ్యాఖ్యలకు సంబంధించిన ప్రధామిక సమాచారంతో టీవీ క్లిప్పింగ్ లు, వార్త పత్రికల్లోని ప్రకటనల్ని కోర్టుకు సమర్పించారు. పోలీసులు సుమోటోగా ఈ కేసును స్వీకరించాల్సి ఉన్నప్పటికీ ఊదారంగా వదిలేశారన్న విమర్షలు తలెత్తడంతో కోర్టు అనుమతితో కేసు నమోదు చేశారు. దీనిపై నాంపల్లి కోర్టులో విచారణ జరగనుంది.

AFGHANISTAN : Al-Qaeda's late-May naming of Mustafa Ahmed Muhammad Uthman Abu al-Yazid as the "general leader" of the group's activities in Afghanistan shows that Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri believe that helping the Taliban win the Afghan war is a top priority. It also suggests that the al-Qaeda chieftains think the path to victory in Afghanistan is set solidly enough that Abu al-Yazid can manage the organization's Afghan affairs while the group turns to other aspects of the jihad outside Afghanistan.

RELEIF FROM A RISING INDAN RUPEE 'BIG' EXPORT MUSCLES
MUMBAI : Lumbering to limit the rupee's growing muscles from damaging India's export business, the government has announced a much-awaited US$345 million relief package for worried exporters. The rupee has been averaging a 9.6% climb against the US currency since January, making Indian exports more expensive and less competitive in global markets. A record $44.9 billion worth foreign-exchange assets flowed into India this year, up from $23.4 billion in 2006. This contributed to the cheaper dollar fetching fewer rupees and punched big holes in exporters' profits.
